#6 - Sonic The Hedgehog and Video Game Movies

Lachlan, Jackson, and Ewan join forces to talk about the latest film news on Indiana Jones, the teaser for Stranger Things Season 4, The Batman Camera Test and the first big-budget Vertical Format feature film.  Later, Ewan shares his hatred towards Minions and Jackson sums up his thoughts on the Sonic movie in a very concise and quick fashion. Lachlan shares his theatre experience and the rules he has if you ever watch a film in the same cinema as him. We go into an in-depth discussion about the Sonic films with the redesign that ended up forcing the VFX company MPC to shut down, the constant references to pop culture and discuss how much we should criticize kid films for been inconsistent and dumb. Lastly, on the topic of Sonic and Video Game movies in general, the team shares their favorite Video Game film and what they would like to see adapted in the future.

#5 - Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey & Best Margot Robbie Movies

Harley Quinn has been unleashed! Ewan, Kally, and Lachlan jump into the latest outing from Warner Bros. DC Universe. We discuss the titular character emancipation from her ex, the terrible Joker played by Jared Leto, although he is noticeably absent in this installment. We get a few additions with Black Canary, Cassandra Cain, Black Mask aka Roman Sionis, Huntress and Zsasz.

Margot Robbie as the lead, Cathy Yan directing and Christina Hodson as the writer makes this a predominantly female lead production that sadly disappointed at the box office. We talk about possible reasons for this and rank the post-Dark Knight DC films from worst to mediocre.

#4 - PARASITE! - Oscar Talk 92nd Academy Awards

Ewan, Lachlan, and Kally talk Oscars! The 92nd Academy Awards were held last Sunday and Parasite was awarded the biggest award of the night. It managed to take home Director, Original Screenplay, International Feature and Best Picture, which was a pleasant surprise. Other surprises were Eminem's performance and well that was kinda it. The rest of the show was quite predictable. In the episode, we go over all the major winners and losers of the night and talk about what could be improved next year. Tune in to hear about our favorite moments of the show with Billie Eilish's memorial performance and Bong Joon-Ho's acceptance speeches. 

The Irishman was arguably the biggest loser of the night. It did not manage to win any of the ten awards it was nominated for. Joker won two out if its eleven nominated in Best Lead Actor Joaquin Phoenix and Best Score for Hildur Guðnadóttir. Marriage Story, Little Women and Jojo Rabbit only took home one award each. 1917 took home three awards, all of them being technical ones with Sound Mixing, Cinematography and Visual Effects, which was surprising considering it was also the frontrunner for Best Director and Best Picture. Ford v Ferrari snatched to awards for Sound Editing and Editing and Toy Story 4 won the best-animated feature.

On today's podcast, the team discusses their most anticipated movies of 2020 ranging from films by Wes Anderson, David Ficher and Edgar Wright to goliath of entertainment media company Disney with their latest outings to the MCU with Black Widow and Eternals, as well as new animated features like Pixar's Soul and Disney Animations Raya and the Last Dragon. There's no change when it comes to remakes and sequels with Spielberg's retelling of West Side Story the 1961 musical adaptation of the same name. Villeneuve brings us the remake of the 1984 Dune, an adaptation of Frank Herbert's novel from the '60s and Disney is continuing to ruin? our childhood by remaking yet another recent classic with a remake of the 1998 animated film Mulan.
