FURIOSA & CANNES 2024 RECAP

They dive deep into the wasteland of George Miller's Furiosa, the fifth movie in the Mad Max Saga. Ewan has thoughts on the disappointing Megalopolis, the Palme d'Or winner Anora, The Substance, Oh, Canada, The Shrouds, and more.

MONSTER is Incredibly Underrated - Review

Ewan and Lachlan revisit a film they've already reviewed 9 months at last year's Cannes Film Festival. This time they get to share their in-depth spoiler thoughts on the latest film from Hirokazu Kore-eda Monster. In preparation for a movie bracket on Denis Villeneuve, they have been (re)watching his filmography in addition to catching the latest (serious) Adam Sandler movie on Netflix called Spaceman. Ewan went on a binge of new releases with Damsel, Ricky Stanicky, Kung Fu Panda 4, Shogun, Megamind, and the Doom Syndicate and he even made time to see Dune Part 2 again, but in IMAX this time.

Ewan caught Drive-Away Dolls, Shogun, and The Sweet East and Lachlan started watching Neon Genesis: Evangelion. They discuss the trailers for I Saw the TV Glow, The Brikeriders, and Horizon: An American Saga.

MAY DECEMBER is Deliciously Awkward

It's that time of the year when the films that premiered at Cannes finally release for all audiences worldwide and among them is this week's movie May December. Ewan shares his love for Todd Haynes filmmaking while Lachlan loved the movie more for its technical achievements rather than narrative ones. Ewan also caught some Christmas-themed movies like The Holdovers and «It's a Wonderful Knife» and they both sat through the horrible Family Switch, why? - they still don't know. Lachlan (re)watched a couple more Ridley Scott movies including Thelma & Louise and Gladiator and is very excited for the live-action Fallout series that just premiered its first trailer. Finally, Furiosa, The Boys Season 4, and House of the Dragon Season 2 all premiered their first trailers this week.
