QUIET ON SET PODCAST 2024 Awards Show

2024 Most Anticipated

Ewan, Lachlan, and Kevin go over the release date calendar for 2024 and tell you what they are looking forward to the most. From Dune Part II, Mickey 17, and Nosferatu to a fourth Despicable Me movie I guess... there are a ton of sequels, prequels, and spin-offs as expected but also a bunch of exciting filmmakers premiering their work this year.

Ewan rewatched Perfect Days with his family and caught the two seasons of Reacher, the second season of What If...? and the underrated gem Small, Slow But Steady. They also share their favorite soundtracks, scores, and albums of the year.

We Watched (Almost) EVERY Ridley Scott Movie.

Ewan and Lachlan revisited Ridley Scott's filmography and rewatched 16 of his most popular and critically acclaimed films including the following films: Alien, Thelma & Louise, and Blade Runner. POOR THINGS is Seductively Enthralling Cinema

Ewan and Lachlan talk about the Oscar Shortlists, their end-of-the-year watchlists, and the worst films of the year. Ewan caught The Iron Claw and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, the final movie of the DC Extended Universe. Finally, they share their in-depth thoughts on one of the best movies of the year: Yorgos Lanthimos' Poor Things.

The Wonderfully Whimsical World of WONKA

Ewan and Lachlan talk about the trailers for Dune Part II, Alex Garland's Civil War, John Krasinski's IF, and Kung Fu Panda 4 as well as the most anticipated films of 2024. A24 is in the news with the casting of Dwayne Johnson and a movie adaption of Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding game. Ewan watched the new Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget, Migration, and the two Paddington movies in preparation for the main review of Paul King's Wonka with Timothée Chalamet.

THE BOY AND THE HERON is Hauntingly Mesmerizing

Ewan and Lachlan discuss Hayao Miyazaki's Potentially Final Movie The Boy and the Heron and discuss Studio Ghibli's future without their iconic filmmakers. They watched the trailer for Godzilla x Kong: A New Empire and Lachlan caught Godzilla Minus One in theaters. He also got to see Poor Things at a preview screening and watched three of Ridley Scott's best movies. Ewan watched Leave the World Behind, Silent Night, and Manodrome.

MAY DECEMBER is Deliciously Awkward

It's that time of the year when the films that premiered at Cannes finally release for all audiences worldwide and among them is this week's movie May December. Ewan shares his love for Todd Haynes filmmaking while Lachlan loved the movie more for its technical achievements rather than narrative ones. Ewan also caught some Christmas-themed movies like The Holdovers and «It's a Wonderful Knife» and they both sat through the horrible Family Switch, why? - they still don't know. Lachlan (re)watched a couple more Ridley Scott movies including Thelma & Louise and Gladiator and is very excited for the live-action Fallout series that just premiered its first trailer. Finally, Furiosa, The Boys Season 4, and House of the Dragon Season 2 all premiered their first trailers this week.

Why You Should Watch NAPOLEON Twice.

Ewan and Lachlan talk about period pieces and epics as they share their spoiler thoughts on Ridley Scott's Napoleon and reveal why the 4hr+ director's cut will make or break the film. Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega are both out from Scream 7 and Nicholas Hoult is Lex Luthor in Superman Legacy. Ewan watched Disney's Wish, and three reptile-themed movies/series with Leo, Godzilla: Minus One and Monarch: Legacy of Monsters as well as the bloody slasher Thanksgiving and Lachlan finished Alan Wake 2.

In preparation for an upcoming Ridley Scott Bracket, they both watch a bunch of his films and rewatch the Hunger Games movies for this week's main review of The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. Ewan watched the animated Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, Squid Game The Challenge, and Taika Waititi's latest misstep Next Goal Wins.

We Watched EVERY David Fincher Movie.

Ewan and Lachlan watched every single film from David Fincher. From fan favorites like Fight Club, Se7en, Gone Girl, The Social Network, and Zodiac to the lesser known Alien³, Panic Room, The Game, or even his latest The Killer.
