THE BOY AND THE HERON is Hauntingly Mesmerizing

Ewan and Lachlan discuss Hayao Miyazaki's Potentially Final Movie The Boy and the Heron and discuss Studio Ghibli's future without their iconic filmmakers. They watched the trailer for Godzilla x Kong: A New Empire and Lachlan caught Godzilla Minus One in theaters. He also got to see Poor Things at a preview screening and watched three of Ridley Scott's best movies. Ewan watched Leave the World Behind, Silent Night, and Manodrome.

MAY DECEMBER is Deliciously Awkward

It's that time of the year when the films that premiered at Cannes finally release for all audiences worldwide and among them is this week's movie May December. Ewan shares his love for Todd Haynes filmmaking while Lachlan loved the movie more for its technical achievements rather than narrative ones. Ewan also caught some Christmas-themed movies like The Holdovers and «It's a Wonderful Knife» and they both sat through the horrible Family Switch, why? - they still don't know. Lachlan (re)watched a couple more Ridley Scott movies including Thelma & Louise and Gladiator and is very excited for the live-action Fallout series that just premiered its first trailer. Finally, Furiosa, The Boys Season 4, and House of the Dragon Season 2 all premiered their first trailers this week.

Ewan and Lachlan talk about period pieces and epics as they share their spoiler thoughts on Ridley Scott's Napoleon and reveal why the 4hr+ director's cut will make or break the film. Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega are both out from Scream 7 and Nicholas Hoult is Lex Luthor in Superman Legacy. Ewan watched Disney's Wish, and three reptile-themed movies/series with Leo, Godzilla: Minus One and Monarch: Legacy of Monsters as well as the bloody slasher Thanksgiving and Lachlan finished Alan Wake 2.

Ewan watched the animated Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, Squid Game The Challenge, and Taika Waititi's latest misstep Next Goal Wins.
